OUT NOW - PINEY GIR's FIRST TWO ALBUMS - DIGITALLY
04/04/12 / Piney Gir
OUT THIS WEEK
The first two Piney Gir albums are back out digitally via Damaged Goods, thats ‘Peakahokahoo’ and The Piney Gir Country Roadshow’s first outing ‘Hold Yer Horses’ They’ve been unavailable for a couple of years so it seemed like a great time to re-issue them. Piney is just back from a quick tour around the UK and has a few London-ish dates coming up before a jaunt to the US in June.
NEW HOLLY & THE BROKEOFFS ALBUM OUT NOW!
15/03/12 / Holly Golightly And The Brokeoffs
Holly & Dave are back with a great new album which is out this week, it’s called “Long Distance” and here’s what Holly had to say about it……”After many requests to incorporate the best of the solo Holly Golightly songs into the live set, with top-notch backing provided by The Brokeoffs, I have picked some of my original band favourites and recorded this collection for old and new fans alike.
The highlight for me was the chance to re-record ‘(You Ain’t) No Big Thing,’ the fantastic 1966 Sam and Dave classic that I first started performing live in 1995. It’s one of my all time top tunes, along with
‘My Love Is,’ the fabulous Little Willie John number, which we’ve given a wistful lone banjo accompaniment this time around.
There is an even mix of cover songs and originals to revisit, all of them corkers in their own right and all of them especially dear to me. ‘Long Distance’ is collection of my good-time-foot-tappers and
sing-along-tear-jerkers. It’s my top ten tracks prepared from scratch and served up fresh.”
It’s out on CD, Digital and a lovely limited edition LP on red & white splattered vinyl too.
THE CHEFS - RECORDS & TEA : THE BEST OF THE CHEFS - COMING SOON...
06/02/12 / The Chefs
This is one we’ve wanted to release for years and now finally it’s coming, it’s the (pretty much) complete recordings of Brighton legends The Chefs.
We think The Chefs are the real roots of C-86 and the early IndiePop stuff along with bands like Girls At Our Best & The Au Pairs, They first appeared on the compilation ‘Vaultage ‘79’ on Attrix records and went onto release three singles, two John Peel sessions and one Richard Skinner session on the BBC before calling it a day in 1983.
This compilation features all their recordings and sessions plus great sleeve notes by The Legend himself, Everett True.
Due out 23rd April, Damgood388CD

BILLY CHILDISH & SEXTON MING - NEW LIMITED EDITION ALBUM
06/02/12 / Billy Childish
Brand new album due out in April, their first together since ‘Here Come The Fleece Geese’ in 2002. It’s called ‘Dung Beetle Rolls Again’ and will be released on Limited Edition 12” LP and download only.
If you don’t know their work together it’s inspired by the like of by the early DaDaists, Edward Lear, Captain Beefheart and the literature of the absurd.
It also reminds us of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in a lot of ways, so not your usual Damaged Goods release but a pretty special one none the less.
